About AIIC

Community is more than who we serve. It is who we are.

AIIC is an intertribal community organization supporting Native people and families in San Francisco through culturally grounded service, connection, and partnership.

Our story

Native-led. Intertribal. Community centered.

Since 1995, the American Indian Intertribal Center has brought community members, elders, families, partners, and advocates together around a shared purpose: helping Native people thrive while remaining connected to culture and community.

AIIC responds to practical needs while creating space for relationship, dignity, and belonging. Our approach recognizes that meaningful support is strongest when it is culturally responsive, easy to reach, and shaped by the people it serves.

Our mission

To strengthen San Francisco's Native community through culturally grounded programs, trusted resource navigation, intergenerational connection, and collaborative action.

Culture is strength

Native identity, knowledge, and tradition are central to wellness and belonging.

Relationships matter

Trust and consistency create the foundation for effective support.

Dignity comes first

Every person deserves respectful, welcoming, and responsive service.

Community leads

Programs are strongest when informed by lived experience and local priorities.

Our approach

Practical help. Cultural connection. Long-term strength.

AIIC works across programs and partnerships so community members do not have to navigate complex systems alone. We connect immediate needs with trusted referrals and ongoing community support.
